Z.E.N. stands for Zero Effort Nutrition. We are Southern California’s premier organic meal delivery service, operating since 2010. Our in-house chefs prepare fresh, calorie-controlled, macro-balanced meals daily using organic, locally-sourced ingredients. We deliver breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and desserts right to your doorstep every morning. Our programs are designed for people looking to lose weight, maintain a healthy lifestyle, build muscle, or simply eat better without the hassle of cooking.
How does Z.E.N. Foods work?
It’s simple. First, choose your meal plan (Weight Loss, Healthy Lifestyle, Muscle Building, or Juice Cleanse). Our team of chefs and nutritionists then prepare your meals fresh every day organic & farm-to-table ingredients. Your meals are delivered to your door each morning in insulated packaging. Just grab your bag, heat your meals for about 2 minutes, and enjoy restaurant-quality food that’s perfectly portioned and nutritionally balanced. No shopping, no cooking, no cleanup.

What meal plans do you offer?
We offer four core programs: Weight Loss (1,200-1,400 cal/day) for those looking to shed pounds safely and sustainably; Healthy Lifestyle (1,600-2,000 cal/day) for maintaining your ideal weight with wholesome nutrition; Muscle Building (2,200-2,800 cal/day) with high-protein meals to fuel muscle growth; and Juice Cleanse programs with our cold-pressed organic juices. Each program includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and a dessert.
Can I customize my meals?
Absolutely. When you sign up, you’ll tell us about any food allergies, intolerances, or preferences. We accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, low-carb, keto, and many other dietary needs. Our nutritionists work with you to ensure every meal fits your specific requirements. You can also swap items or adjust your plan at any time by contacting our team.
What’s the calorie range?
Our meal plans range from 1,200 to 2,800 calories per day depending on the program you choose. Weight Loss plans start at 1,200 cal/day, Healthy Lifestyle ranges from 1,600-2,000 cal/day, and Muscle Building goes up to 2,800 cal/day. Every meal is precisely portioned by our registered dietitians with balanced macros (protein, carbs, and healthy fats) to support your specific goals.
Are your ingredients organic?
Yes. We use 100% organic, locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible. Our produce comes from trusted California farms, our proteins are premium quality, and we never use preservatives, artificial flavors, or processed ingredients. Every meal is prepared fresh daily in our kitchen — we don’t freeze anything. What you receive is what was cooked that morning.
Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes, we accommodate a wide range of dietary needs including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, low-carb, keto, paleo, and more. Many of our clients have food allergies or intolerances, and our nutritionists carefully design meals around those restrictions. We also work with clients whose doctors have prescribed specific diets for medical conditions. Just let us know your needs and we’ll handle the rest.

We deliver throughout Southern California including Los Angeles (Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Santa Monica, Hollywood, Downtown, Malibu, Brentwood, Pasadena, the Valley), Orange County (Newport Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach), Ventura County (Thousand Oaks, Calabasas, Westlake Village), and San Diego (La Jolla, Del Mar, Encinitas, Carlsbad). When are meals delivered?
Your meals are delivered fresh every morning before you start your day. Our delivery drivers bring your insulated bag to your doorstep in the early morning hours so your breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and dessert are waiting for you when you wake up. Delivery times vary by area, but most clients receive their meals between 5 AM and 8 AM.
How long do meals stay fresh?
All meals are prepared fresh the same day and delivered in insulated, temperature-controlled packaging. Once you receive them, simply place them in your refrigerator. Your meals will stay fresh for up to 3 days when properly refrigerated, though we recommend eating them the day they arrive for the best taste and nutritional value.
How do I heat my meals?
Most meals can be heated in the microwave for about 2 minutes. Some dishes also taste great cold (salads, wraps, certain snacks). Heating instructions are included with each meal. For the best results, we recommend transferring your meal to a plate before heating. It’s truly zero effort — no cooking skills required.

How much does Z.E.N. Foods cost?
Our meal plans range from $36 to $67 per day depending on the program you choose. This includes all your meals for the day: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and dessert. When you consider the cost of buying organic groceries, the time spent cooking, and the value of your time, Z.E.N. Foods is actually more affordable than most people expect. We also offer special pricing for longer commitments and corporate programs.
Can I pause, skip, or cancel?
Yes. We believe in earning your business every single day, which is why we don’t require contracts or long-term commitments. You can skip a day, pause your plan for a vacation, or cancel at any time with no penalties or fees. Just give us a call or email at least 3-business day notice before your next delivery day and we’ll take care of it. Many of our clients have been with us for years — not because they have to be, but because they love the food.

Over the last 10-years, we have served Southern California with strict food safety protocols. With the threat of the Coronavirus, we want to assure you that our customers are very important to us, and our (your) food is always prepared and served to the highest standard because our customers' safety and health is our number one priority.

Z.E.N. Foods has always maintained the strictest standards. Our vendors are local and we grade all of our ingredients for quality, freshness and sustainability every delivery.
From the moment our ingredients arrive, and through the cooking and preparation process, your food is never exposed to harmful elements. We protect our fresh foods during preparation with stringent temperature control.
Once our food is cooked, it is then blast chilled down to 34° within a 90-minute period. This is to not only prevent any food borne illnesses but also ensures the freshness of the food. Then everything is plated in a cold room at 34
We follow safe and conscious food preparation guidelines, which include frequent hand washing, gloved hands and full protective chef coats, safety masks and hairnets
Surfaces are sanitized between duties, and gloves are changed to prevent any cross-contamination. Cooler bags and ice packs are sanitized and disinfected everyday, and a zip tie is applied to your cooler bag for safety.
Our commissary is regularly disinfected with a safe and effective (EPA-registered) vapor spray, that will not only disinfect germs, bacteria and viruses (including SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19), but will also protect against new bio-threats from surviving on the surface of our tables, desks and equipment.

Vegetarian meals are available with the Weight Loss and Healthy Lifestyle Programs. The Vegetarian Select program offers both vegetarian and pescotarian meals. Vegan meals currently are not available.
We don't offer family style meals, but we offer Z.E.N. Classics Program for busy, health conscious individuals and families! The program offers client favorite breakfast, soup & salads, entrees, cold-pressed juices and desserts. Z.E.N. Clasics Meals start at as low as $7.95, with minimum order of $25 per delivery. Seasoning should be limited and used sparingly. Our talented chefs use the finest herbs and spices, and most people find they don't need additional seasoning.
Test for temperature, repeat for 15 second intervals until desired temperature.
Conventional Oven: Remove meals from containers and place on an oven safe dish. Heat meal at approximately 325 degrees for 10–15 minutes or until hot. Keep in mind heating time and temperature can vary between ovens.
Any program provided by Z.E.N. Foods is always enhanced with regular exercise, adequate water intake (six to eight 8 oz glasses per day) & proper sleeping habits.
In order to ensure stable blood sugar levels, we recommend you eat all meals. Please contact your consultant to make necessary adjustments to your meal plan if you have difficulties consume all the meals.
Yes, the Z.E.N. Classic Program is a nutritiously balanced program that will enhance a healthy Lifestyle. The Z.E.N. Weight Loss Program is available for those with weight loss needs.
Z.E.N. Foods allows you to choose up to 3 "dislikes" or "allergies" for free. Additional dislikes, up to 8 choices, incur an additional $3.00 per day fee. Important: We do not accommodate severe allergies such as nut or shellfish allergies at this time.
7 days is the minimum order for all Z.E.N. Foods programs, however, deliveries can be scheduled for as little as one day per week to accommodate most schedules.
Z.E.N. Foods' meals are packed in an insulated cooler bag with reusable ice packs to ensure your meals remain cold and fresh. We recommend you to refrigirate the items immidiately after you open your cooler bag.
We currently deliver to Southern California, including Los Angeles, Orange County, Ventura County, San Diego County, Santa Clarita County and parts of Santa Barbara County*.

Yes, as long as the alternate address is within our delivery area. 24-hour notice is required. If delivering to an office building, there must be security available to receive your meals.
Ice packs and cooler bags are to be placed outside each evening to be collected by the driver when he is dropping off the next day’s meals. The meal containers should be placed in your recyclable trash.
You may call your Z.E.N. Foods consultant and suspend meals, giving a 3-business-day lead time. Suspended meals will be added to the end of your current program.
We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your requests. Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.
We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected and encrypted via SSL (Secured Sockets Layer).
We also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information.
Credit Cards (AMEX, VISA, MasterCard and Discover), checks and/or cash when ordering over the phone. If paying by check, the check must be received and cleared before the program begins. If paying by cash, contact customer service.

You may cancel your order with a 3-business-day notice. If your order is cancelled, the credit remaining on your account is transferable. You may gift it to someone else or use it towards our products and services in the future.
You may cancel a single meal if needed, giving a 3-business-day notice. However, keep in mind that altering your program may affect achieving your goals.

If you choose to drink alcohol, it is best that you have your drink with a meal. Since alcohol is a carbohydrate, you should cut back your carbohydrates at that meal. The food in your stomach will slow down the sugar absorption rate into your blood stream and assist in keeping your insulin levels from spiking.
