Dr. Kerner is certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Kerner’s practice specializes in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, sinus and nasal reconstructive surgery, the surgical treatment of sleep apnea and craniofacial deformities, and laryngology (the care and treatment of voice disorders). He has a private practice in both Northridge and Westlake Village, California.
He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is a member of several societies including the American Rhinologic Society, the Triologic Society, the California Society of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, The California Medical Association, and the Los Angeles County Medical Association.
Dr. Kerner graduated with high honors (Alpha Omega Alpha) from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in 1989, and completed a residency and postdoctoral fellowship in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UCLA in 1995. Dr. Kerner is Chief of Surgical Services at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, and holds academic appointments as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at UCLA, and an Adjunct Professor of Communication Sciences at California State University, Northridge.
Dr. Kerner lectures nationally and internationally on facial plastic surgery, craniofacial surgery and maxillofacial trauma, image-guided sinus surgery, lasers and powered instrumentation in sinus surgery and laryngology. He has authored or co-authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals including Operative Techniques in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, The American Journal of Otolaryngology, Archives of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Laryngoscope, American Journal of Rhinology, and Lancet. Dr Kerner is an expert in non-invasive aesthetic techniques and has extensive experience and expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including injectables such as Botox® Cosmetic, Juvederm®, Restylane®, Radiesse® and Sculptra™, as well as lasers and light based treatments.
